Early European cartography was the subject of the most recent Bryn Mawr Library exhibition. Mapping New Worlds: The Cartography of European Exploration and Colonization, 1450-1750 looked at how maps of Asia, Africa, and the Americas documented both the progress of European knowledge of geography and Europe's increasing economic, political and cultural dominance over the world. The images selected for this handsome new boxed set display lovely and humorous details from maps of Mexico, Africa, Portugal, and Antarctica.
