Completed in 1885, Taylor Hall is Bryn Mawr's first building. It is built of granite in the Victorian Gothic style with a Quaker flavor. Francis T. King, the first president of the Trustees, said he wished the building to be like the "Quaker Lady": composed and intellectual. This image was used as a Presidential Christmas card in 1964 by President Katharine McBride.
