Painter, author, teacher, poet, graphic artist, Ben Wolf was also a generous supporter of Library Publications through his many gifts of artwork that have handsomely graced our greeting cards for decades. During World War II, he was a combat artist for the Coast Guard and subsequently did much illustration for "Life" magazine, "Art Digest," and "National Observer." Ben died in December 1996. His special subjects were the beauties of Maine: its flowers, forests, coves, and seaside vistas. Ben's memory lives on in these beautiful cards and in a book fund that was established in his honor at the College
